Features and advantages
The key advantage of Gazer VI700S-GVIF/GM multimedia interface is that it is installed without tampering with the stock MyLink, Intellelink or GVIF multimedia system of your Chevrolet, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lexus or Toyota. Your car’s MyLink, Intellelink or GVIF head unit is customized as best as possible for the installed in-dash sound system and for the car in general. The audio player operates as part of the Chevrolet, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lexus or Toyota vehicle; it is connected with other electronic systems via a CAN digital bus and is not only responsible for the audio playback, but is a part of the car’s control computer. Using the Gazer VI700S-GVIF/GM multimedia interface, you can substantially expand the head unit’s functionality and transform it into a full-fledged media centre, which would increase the road safety and the level of comfort for the driver and passengers alike. All original functions of MyLink, Intellelink or GVIF, such as radio, playback from SD and USB drives, Bluetooth, audio settings and vehicle functions control will work as intended by the vehicle manufacturer.
The connection of the Gazer VI700S multimedia interface to your car’s display and audio system is performed by a single push of a button, after which the driver has the following additional options to increase safety: the possibility to connect rear and front view cameras with path outline; Gazer surround camera system with options of dashcam camera and surveillance camera for a parked car; support of the original parking assistant image over the cameras’ view or the panoramic view.
Two additional audio-video inputs allow connecting any external devices such as a digital T2 TV receiver or a DVR, an external DVD or media player, or even a karaoke machine or a game console to your Chevrolet, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lexus or Toyota stock multimedia system.
Audio and video playback from USB drives as well as photo viewing and book reading – with Gazer VI700S-GVIF/GM multimedia interface, you can enjoy all these functions.
Installation and controls
Gazer VI700S-GVIF/GM multimedia interface supports Plug&Play (Pin-to-Pin) installation and connection without damaging the stock wiring in your Chevrolet, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lexus or Toyota car. The central unit of the multimedia interface is mounted behind the vehicle's built-in display and plugged into the multimedia system and CAN bus using the stock cable that comes with the vehicle. The way the system operates can be compared to switching between video sources in a regular TV set – when the interface is activated, the multimedia system switches from its default mode to the multimedia interface mode and starts displaying the image generated by Gazer multimedia interface.
The multimedia interface can also be connected to the audio system using the stock AUX input. Alternatively, you can use an external speaker included into Gazer VI700S-GVIF/GM standard supply package.
In Chevrolet, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lexus or Toyota cars, the original touch screen of the stock multimedia system is used. With touch controls, one can easily manage all the numerous functions and features of Gazer VI700S-GVIF/GM multimedia interface. It is also possible to control Gazer VI700S multimedia interface using the vehicle's stock joystick, touchpad or any other controls provided by the manufacturer.
One can enable Gazer multimedia interface and switch between audio and video sources using the vehicle's stock button (NAVI, TEL, Voice) or the additional external button included in the supply package in case your car does not have a stock navigation control button. The rear or surround view camera mode is enabled automatically each time the car shifts into reverse.
The CarPlay function is created for the owners of Apple products to synchronize the device with iPhone. To activate CarPlay, connect your iPhone with Gazer VI700S-GVIF/GM multimedia interface using a lightning-USB cable. The CarPlay function will then automatically start on the head unit screen CarPlay, and the available apps will be displayed. Use apps, listen to the music, make calls, type and send messages using the Siri voice assistant or the device’s touch display. Use the Siri voice assistant to control CarPlay functions. Just plug in your iPhone to the multimedia interface and give Siri a voice command.
Using the CarPlaу technology, you can listen to the music from iTunes or Apple Music. You can also play back your favourite track by giving a voice command to the voice assistant.
With the CarPlaу function, you can use navigation that is pre-installed in your iPhone. Enter your destination and say, “Hi, Siri. Plot the route…”.
With CarPlay, you can also use other applications installed on your iPhone. In the smartphone settings, you can arrange how the apps will be displayed on the multimedia screen.
Thanks to the Siri voice assistant, you can play back the incoming messages and reply to an SMS using voice typing. For example, “Siri, send a message to Alex: I’m coming, will be there in 10 minutes”. Or you can use voice commands for applications “Siri, call Jack”, “Siri, plot the route to 221b Baker Street”, “Siri, what’s the weather like today?”.
Connecting cameras, surround view system, and parking assistant
Gazer VI700S-GVIF/GM multimedia interface allows connecting and using such important security systems as a rear view camera, a surround view system, and a parking assistant.
When Gazer rear view camera or surround view system is installed, the image displayed on the screen will have a special overlay with the vehicle's trajectory (IPAS function). The parking guidelines will indicate the vehicle's driving direction depending on the steering wheel position.*
If your vehicle does not have OEM parking sensors, you can install Gazer parking assistant, and the multimedia interface will display its data it just as it would in case of the factory-installed parktronic system.
Gazer surround view system will ensure maximum safety when parking and maneuvering in a confined space by showing what happens around your Chevrolet, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lexus or Toyota car in the "top-down perspective" without any blind spots and time lag. For example, such driving tasks as parking near high street curbs, crossing a narrow bridge, or maneuvering among short polls or flowerbeds will become perfectly easy and safe posing no danger for pedestrians and your vehicle. The system can also act as a DVR and a CCTV system by recording not only when the car is on the move but when it is parked as well. A signal from the G-sensor activates the recording.
Connecting additional audio and video sources
Gazer VI700S-GVIF/GM multimedia interface allows connecting two additional audio-video sources to MyLink, Intellelink or GVIF multimedia system. You can connect a digital TV tuner, a DVR, and an external DVD or media player, as well as such entertainment systems as a game console or a karaoke machine.
